Set in 80 hectares of tranquil grounds, Orana Wildlife Park is New Zealand’s only open range zoo. The park offers a range of unique, close up animal encounters at scheduled times. Visitors can watch the tigers search, leap or even climb a pole for their food, hand feed our majestic giraffe, meet the mighty white rhino “face-to-face” and stroll through an alpine themed aviary for close encounters with NZ kea, the world's only mountain parrot.
Thrill seekers can experience the awesome lion encounter which takes people through the African lion habitat on board our specially modified vehicle for extremely close views of the “King of Beasts” (conditions apply).
An extensive native collection features a wide range of rare and endangered birds and reptiles including kiwi and tuatara. Guided tours operate daily.
