This historic reserve provides great views across the Waitemata Harbour, Rangitoto and the Auckland city skyline.

Bastion Point is most clearly remembered in New Zealand history for its role in 1970's Maori protests against forced land alienation by non Maori New Zealanders.

Home of the Savage Memorial for the first Labour Prime Minister of New Zealand Michael Joseph Savage (March 23, 1872 – March 27, 1940).
